Yes. Absolutely. Treat the drag racing game play as the “clicker” gameplay, treat your gameplay as the idle gameplay. You can see an example of this in GummyDrop! by Big Fish Games. Regular gameplay provides resources, but there are also resource generators that can be purchased. These generators work regardless if the player is there or not. It just comes down to basic in-game economy design and accounting for player skill. To your second question — Is it possible to make an idle game less tappy and more skill-wise in and Idle game (I hope I understood you right). Absolutely. Just replace the clicker gameplay with any skill-based exercise. It will work with adjustments to the economy speed and the balance between rewards to skill in the core gameplay versus the currency rewarded from the automatic generators. I hope that answers your question.

Do you think that it’s possible to introduce idle gameplay as part of the meta-game that is already based on another activity (drag racing in my case)? Is it possible in that case to make it less tappy and more skill-wise (i.e. make player decide whether it’s better to invest in long-term income rather than periodical boosts)?
